Steppin' Out Dance Academy

52 Church Street, Kingston, NH

603-642-7711

Thank you for volunteering to be a chaperone for the recital! Below is some important information that will help things run smoothly during the show:)

SHOULD CHAPERONES ATTEND THE DRESS REHEARSAL?

Yes, it is very helpful for chaperones to attend the dress rehearsal. Although students do not remain backstage as they do the day of recital, chaperones will still help line students up and escort them backstage. The day of dress rehearsal the class should sit together in the auditorium and report backstage approximately 5 numbers prior to their routine with the chaperones.

DO CHAPERONES NEED A RECITAL TICKET?

Chaperones will not need to purchase a ticket as they will be helping and watching from backstage, the designated dancer/chaperone seats, or stationed at one of the auditorium doors.

WHEN CAN CHAPERONES LEAVE?

Chaperones must stay with the class until all of their dances are done, and until every students gets picked up by a parent. We will have a parent sign in sheet when dropping off students. Chaperones will bring students ages 4&5 and older backstage for finale. Once finale is over chaperones can head back to the band room for parent pick up. For safety reasons, please ask parents to notify you if someone different will be picking them up after the show.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Coloring books, crayons, games, etc.... are all great to have backstage! Hair pins, safety pins, hair gel, and hairspray are also great to have on hand!

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE THE DAY OF SHOW, AND WHERE DO I GO?

Chaperones should arrive 40 minutes prior to showtime and report backstage. We will give you a chaperone pin, a program, and someone will show you where the dressing rooms are, as well as the open area where dancers will meet.
